Stupid Americans!
Comments:
I need to get out of this country. It's very scary what the people on the street don't know (although what' s the percentage of received responses to displayed responses I wonder).
Also -- close your strike-through tag. :)
blogger is really sucking slowly lately. Most times I post something it runs a bit and then gives me the "blogger is taking longer than usual to publish..." message. Which means I can't check if the post went up properly, and it will be published, but not usually for hours. Which is how I get broken links or missing [/strike] tags sitting there all day.
Then again, it's free...
Last night I was watching that new game show hosted by Jeff Foxworthy; something along the lines of "Are you smarter than a fifth grader?" Anywho, some woman--for half a million dollars--had to correctly name the one country that is also a continent, and for the life of her, she couldn't do it. I wanted to reach through the TV and smack her across the face, and I'm sure most of the audience did too, judging from their loud booing and screaming at her own idiocy. Half a freaking million dollars. (In case anyone's brain farting, the answer is Australia.) The worst part is that she "walked away" with 300 thousand dollars. On a game show like that, you should be forced to answer every question, not win 300k because you don't know first grade geography. And of course, if they'd asked me who the most recent American Idol winner was, I'd be clueless, and booed and hissed by the audience, and shamed at losing 200k from my own idiocy, but whatever.

After the show, I got to musing about how they pick these contestants; they must give them all geography tests, and the ones who suck the most balls probably get on the show. Yay America! Do they have these types of game shows in other countries? Meh, probably.
