Why I Quit Watching TV
Comments:
Don't give up on football man!
The Packers sucked hard all through my viewing years, but I kept watchin em, until 1996 finally came around and justified all the crappy games I'd watched for 20+ years... Your day will come. Someday.... And even bad football is still way better than everything/anything else on TV. Discovery and NatGeo have interesting stuff but everything else should just be flushed down the toilet.
I'm still something of a Chargers fan, after living in SD for for near 20 years. I don't root for the 49ers or Raiders, but they've just been so unentertainly bad since I've lived up here that it's made watching them painful. If I even had a TV, I might have some renewed hope this year, with the tanked economy causing so many games not to sell out and blackouts to ensue. There would be good games on local SF TV, at least on the weeks SF and Oak were at home!
I actually enjoy college football more than pro. Well, enjoyed, since I don't watch it anymore either. College has more scoring, more open style of play, and like, 50 games on a Saturday, usually 4 or 5 on at once, making for channel surfing paradise. Back when I had sufficient free time to feel okay watching sporting events all afternoon/evening. Rather than doing something important, like surfing the internet and blogging about it! *cough*
Got the new 46 inch Samsung HDTV with all the trimmings 2 weeks ago, and I am looking to watching football in "dynamic" mode.
